WatHer Lectures on Heritage and Water at UAlg

On 8 and 9 April, 2026 at UAlg, Professor Beya Abidi from the University of La Manouba (Tunisia) gave two lectures on key themes of the Interreg Euro-MED WatHer project.

The first lecture focused on the relationship between cultural heritage and sustainable tourism in Tunisia, addressing issues, challenges, and paradoxes. This open lecture was aimed primarily at students on the PhD programme in Heritage Studies and researchers from CEAACP – Centre for Studies in Archaeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences, which is linked to the WatHer project.

The second lecture focused on water as the matrix of heritage and landscape in the Mediterranean, from a historical, architectural, and territorial perspective. This lecture was aimed primarily at students on the master’s programme in Landscape Architecture, but also at those interested in the subject, namely residents of the WatHer’s Portuguese pilot area.
